As of late, the ‘Amalfi Coast’ often circulates in conversation as soon as the country Italy is mentioned. It’s undoubtedly gorgeous and it is essential that you try and make your way there some time or another. Unlike anything I’ve ever seen, it’s hard to believe that places like that even exist, God is magic.
The biggest dilemma before getting there is where to stay ? We asked around for recommendations and the general response is “It’s all nice, it’s the same” – well no. After visiting Positano (where we stayed), The Amalfi Coast, Ravello and Capri here is exactly what you should do …

The Amalfi Coast, Italy
The Amalfi Coast itself is beautiful, however; it’s a little marketing campaign for the Italians. It generalises the entire coast because it’s designed to be the hub of transport and transit for the area. The town is bigger, busier and it’s perfect for young people to chill by the beach. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still breathtaking but if you’re after some colourful views here’s where to stay …
Positano, Italy
Positano, wow. First of all, the fact that we made the right choice was everything, but most of all the views you see in the picture above was from our own room balcony – a scene that I’d like to wake up to everyday.
The place is just as you imagine it and more. It’s busy with tourist, yet not overkill. It has a perfectly sized town with shops, great restaurants and of course a beach. I strongly recommend that you stay there to get the overall experience of the colourful houses, water and hills and it’s also centre to all of the above Islands mentioned with just an hour drive or boat ride away.
Wait a minute, now, since we have stayed in Positano, the next time around we’ll be staying in Capri … WHY?
Capri, Italy
An elegant and classy Island, it’s much like the South of France. Just a boat ride away from Positano, we took a day trip to Capri and spent few hours deciding on when we should come back (I’ll be pushing on that). It’s large and full of things to do, what I loved most is how fancy it is, it’s people are so chic, it’s fabulous.
By far, it’s the most expensive and it is a little prestige. The centre is surrounded by fancy restaurants and of course your designer brand shops so it’s ideal for shopping, relaxing and looking out at sea views – what more could you want?
The truth is, this was my sister’s dream, a place that her and I were meant to see together. I’ve promised her that we’d come back and experience Capri in fours, as for the husbands, well you know what they say, a happy wife equals a happy life.
